History

In 1991, a handful of youth ministers in the Monroe, Louisiana area were searching for a way to more fully minister to their students at summer camp. They felt led by God to do something different from the camps they had been attending in the past. As this group prayed about and discussed an alternative, Cross Camp was born. Their vision was a camp designed to build unity within church groups and to challenge each student on a deeper, more personal level, in a smaller, intimate setting. Cross Camp continues to be a fulfillment of that vision today. Over the past 20+ years, we have seen countless students and adults come to know Christ as their savior, grow in their relationship with Him, and surrender their lives to the call of His ministry. Today Cross Camp is an incorporated, 501c3 nonprofit year-long ministry. It is led completely by volunteer ministers who are truly passionate to see teenagers connect with the Lord Jesus. We are continuing to see God do amazing things in the lives of students, not just at camp, but at home and school as well.
